Where Your Identity Begins

Ephesians 2:10 - King James Version (KJV)

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

What does this verse from the Word of God mean to you?

According to the New Living Bible, it means we are God's Masterpieces, that as born again Christians, we are created upon Jesus Christ.

It means that we are to do good works, that these good works we are created unto, to do, to walk in, that God already prepared our Life assignments for us in advance.

Therefore, once we, each and every one of us recognizes this as our individual identity, that we are no longer subject to some haphazard self-image created by some pagan guru out there

It means that once we have adopted this identity above as our own identity, that we recognized that our life assignments, what we are to devote our lives to, because that is what the Our Creator God, already ordained (chose) for us to do,

It means then we no longer have to suffer some existential crisis as to what we are to do with our lives, what we exist for.

Why? Because, we walk on the most secure foundation possible to walk and live on, Jesus Christ. We will have a basis for our existence that was the original and legitimate one.

We will no longer have need to be like some poor homeless, ownerless mutt dog out in the street chasing after its own tail.

We will no longer be like some driftwood boat in the middle of some unknown ocean floating along, at the mercy of the water and winds. No, instead, we will be living the meant-for Life that the Most High and the One True God, Our Heavenly Father perfectly ordained for us – in advance.

The Adventurers - Trailer

These are the tragedies that ensue when people live for themselves, struggle for themselves, betray for themselves, do murder for themselves.

These people totally ignore God and so they end up dying in their own sins and spend their eternities in Hell.

Yes, in some cases, undeserved traumas befall them and us. Unjust losses must be suffered. But then what is done with these experiences is really what counts.

Take Dax Xenos, the main character of this movie, for example. What a wasted life he lived.

He did suffer unjustly but then he moved on to fornicate, to use, abuse, kill, etc. In the end, he was shot dead by a sniper fighting for the same tyrant that he himself helped bring rise to power.

He never thought of God, he never questioned God's purpose for his life. He never thought of thinking why God permitted these events into his life and what could he do with them to help God reach people.

He never forgave but lived on from one vendetta to another. Never once did Dax Xenos wonder what his life was to be for.

He lived in the moment. He met one woman who could have given his life some substance but he spurned her  too when she could not bring him a son.

Had he paused to think of God's purpose for his life, he might have lived it in a different way. He could have glorified God and blessed people.

Instead, he lived a crazy, disordered, and yes, diabolical life.  This dictator El Rojo gave him the opportunity to leave to Europe, rebuild his life there, find a love, start over.

What a good worthwhile life his would have been. But no, he gave no place to God. Instead he lived for who knows what?

Now for you, what would you have done in his place, dearest reader?

Let's say you have a trauma in your childhood as did Dax Xenos. Your family was massacred.

And you made the forgivable mistake of taking the law into your hands and the machine gun was put into your hands by the avenging revolutionary, El Rojo.  And yes, you killed all seven killers of your family.

And then you suffer another tragedy. The family that took you in for shelter later was also killed.

But you escaped.  However, despite your escape, you got your insides tormented. Then is the time to seek God for relief.

After all, Jesus said, Come to me those of you who labor and are heavy laden. Will you take Jesus on his offer or will you turn your back to him and run the rest of your life into the ground as did Dax Xenos?

Its your call, dear friend.
